Oracle has released security updates for Java 8.
If you must use Java it is highly recommended that you install this latest update. Use the Offline download where possible. This is to avoid the prompter asking you to install the Ask or McAfee or other adware toolbar. Disable Java in your browser unless required.
If you don’t use Java but have it installed it should be removed.
The update means your computer is protected from a software flaw. Without this update, it is easy for an attacker to take advantage of the vulnerability. This means that a malicious website can connect to your computer and access files and data.
It is always good security practice to keep your computers and software running with the latest updates. For more a more comprehensive overview of your organisation’s security, book in for a FREE IT SECURITY HEALTH CHECK.
